Death Valley

A few weeks ago Hoover and I took a quick trip out to death valley.  It was partially motivated by wildflowers which only show up about every 50 years, when there is a lot of rain that allows them to grow.  This happened to be one of those years so I decided that would be a good time to head out there, and Hoover came along for something to do.  These are mostly just random pictures, so not all of them will have an explanation. Some of them are just nice views.  Also, I went to Death Valley last year, so I didn't take quite as many pictures this time.  If you want to see the old ones, go here:
Death Valley Pics

This is right around sunrise (although that's the moon in the picture; the sun is behind us, as you can see in the next picture).  We were there for sunrise because we basically left our house at about 1AM, got around Death Valley at about 5:30AM, drove around all day, and left in the afternoon.

This is looking in the other direction.  There's the sun, as promised.  This picture and the one above it are also part of a pretty cool panoramic that you'll get to in a few pages.
